Q&A: In this movie Burt and his wife, Vicky, end up in the town of Gatlin, Nebraska after running over a boy who came out of a cornfield. In this town, there are no adults around because the parents were murdered by word of Isaac, a preacher of the cult of children that runs the town. Isaac preaches about the thing in the cornfield called “He Who Walks Behind the Rows.” On a person’s eighteenth birthday, they are sacrificed to “He Who Walks Behind the Rows.” I saw this movie on a DVD. I was very interested in seeing this film. My friend got this movie for her sister, Jen, on her birthday and I liked it the first time I watched it. Since then, I have been watching this movie every time Jen comes home from college or when it is on T.V. What I love about this movie is that it is written by Stephen King, who I think is the best author ever. I would definitely recommend this movie to someone else because it is a thrilling movie to watch and it is one of those movies where every time you watch it, you find something new that you missed the last time you watched it. Q&A: I got Latina magazine randomly in the mail one day and I really liked reading it. Since then, I’ve been getting this magazine in the mail and passing it on to friends. It is a consumer magazine because it contains advertisements for consumer products and it shows the lifestyle of the consumer. Also, it targets a certain group of people. This magazine targets Hispanic women from ages 15 and up. I am not of Hispanic heritage, but I do enjoy reading this magazine. I have learned some makeup techniques and found some products in there that I use right now. On the cover of the magazine is Eva Longoria. She was not the reason I picked up Latina. I do think Eva Longoria is a great actress, though. What impacted me to pick up the magazine are the interesting advice columns, beauty tips, and the interesting stories the readers send in. I would definitely recommend Latina magazine. You do not have to be a Hispanic woman to enjoy it, too. Latina is one of those magazines that you could read over and over and then pass on to a friend that will like it as much as you do.

Q & A: I found this book at Barnes & Noble. I think it was my best purchase I have ever made there. This book impacted me because I think Sharon Osbourne is a remarkable person. She probably knows about the music business more than anyone because her father was Don Arden, a promoter. I would definitely recommend this book because you get to see another side of her and her rock and roll family. You learn that there is more to Ozzy Osbourne than just biting the heads of bats, prince of darkness, etc. I also recommend this book not only because it is about her, she also wrote it. No one can write their own autobiography better than themselves. I believe Sharon Osbourne has an underlying message to her book. That message is to remain strong and fight back. She has a lot of strength in her from dealing with her father to dealing with colon cancer. Every chapter in the book shows how she never backed down when things got tough.

My name is Margaret Maloney. My major is Mass Communications and my minor is Spanish. I have had an interest in working in radio since I was in my freshmen year of high school. I made Spanish my minor because I really enjoyed learning the language and I wanted to continue on with it. My dream career is to be a Disk Jockey. If not, I would like to do anything involving radio. My only activity so far at Lindenwood University is the marching band. I have been a band kid since I was in the 5th grade. I couldn’t imagine what life would be like if I didn’t do any sort of band in college since I’ve spent so much time in grade school playing my French Horn. In the marching band, I play the Mellophone. It is the marching band version of the French Horn. Marching band is also my Work and Learn here. This school year, I’m excited about meeting new people, learning new things about my major, and myself. So far, I really like the people here and I really love the campus. I don’t watch a lot of T.V. That’s why I didn’t bring one with me to school. But I do have some favorite shows. My number one favorite show is Dog the Bounty Hunter. I think Dwane “Dog” Chapman is an amazing guy. He started out as a criminal, turned his life around, and became a bounty hunter. I think it is amazing that he always talks to the person he catches and inspires them to change their lives. I don’t have an exact favorite movie, but I do favor Julia Robert’s movies. I love Runaway Bride, Pretty Woman, Steel Magnolias, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Mystic Pizza, and many others. I think she’s an amazing actress. My favorite music of all time is hard rock. My all-time favorite band is Metallica. A lot of people stopped liking them because of their recent album, St. Anger. I believe that all bands somewhere in their career have or will put out a bad album. It just happens. I don’t care what people say, I’m still a fan. Other bands and singers I like are Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, REO Speedwagon, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, and many others.
